Brave doesn't have to feel calm. Shaky hands and a racing heart can still show up.

A lot of us picture brave as steady and calm. So when our hands shake or our chest gets tight while we do something hard, we decide we're failing at it.

Here's the realer version. Anxiety and courage often show up at the same time. A racing heart just means your body noticed this matters and got ready. It isn't proof that you're doing it wrong, and it doesn't erase the fact that you did it.

Today, try one small thing: think of one thing you did recently while your body was nervous. A phone call, a store run, a hard conversation, getting out of bed. Give yourself real credit for it.

We are peer support, not medical advice. In the U.S., call or text 988 if you are in crisis.
