What to do during a panic attack: gentle movement

If everything feels locked and loud right now, that does not mean you failed. Panic can freeze you in place. Your nervous system is sounding an alarm. You are still here.
Try gentle movement
- Stand if you can, or stay seated.
- Roll your shoulders once, slowly.
- Shift your weight from one foot to the other, or walk to another room at half speed.
- Notice one thing under your feet or in your hands as you move.
This is not a workout. You are giving your nervous system a kinder signal for a minute. This peak can pass. You do not have to feel brave to take one small step.
