What to do during a panic attack: safe-place visualization

If everything feels loud and wrong right now, that does not mean you are broken. Panic can make the present moment feel like a threat. Your nervous system is doing overtime. You are still here.
Try a safe-place visualization
- Close your eyes if that helps, or soften your gaze.
- Picture a spot that feels yours — a porch by quiet water, a favorite chair, a trail you know.
- Add one detail: the light, a sound, a texture under your hands.
- Stay with that one detail for a few breaths.
You are not escaping forever. You are giving your brain a softer signal for a minute. This peak can pass. You do not have to feel brave to use a tool.
