About Help My Attacks

Help My Attacks is a peer-support website and Facebook community for people who live with anxiety, panic attacks, and panic disorder, and for the people who love them. It's published by Vernon B.
Why this site exists
If your heart races, your chest tightens, or your mind insists "this time is different," it can feel like you're the only one. You're not. Help My Attacks exists to offer plain-language, realistic support: simple tools you can use in the middle of a wave, honest talk about what living with panic is like, and reminders that the feeling peaks and passes.
Who publishes it
The site and the Help My Attacks Facebook Page are run by Vernon B. Vernon is not a doctor, therapist, or licensed clinician, and this site doesn't claim to be a medical resource. It's written from a peer perspective: someone who cares about this community and wants it to have kind, practical, trustworthy support.
Our peer-support stance
- Peer support, not medical care. Nothing here is diagnosis, treatment, or therapy. We encourage people to talk with a doctor or therapist, especially if panic is new, frequent, or changing.
- No medical, medication, or supplement advice. We don't tell anyone what to take or stop taking.
- Realistic reassurance. We don't promise cures or tell anyone to "just think positive." Hard days are part of it, and they don't erase progress.
- Safety first. Every page footer carries crisis information. In the U.S., call or text 988. If you're in immediate danger, call emergency services.
How the content is made
- Articles and guides are written in plain language and focus on widely shared, non-medical coping skills such as grounding, slower breathing, naming the wave, and gentle movement.
- Daily posts and shareable graphics are created for the Facebook Page and archived here in Posts and Shareables.
- Some first drafts and graphics are prepared with help from digital tools, including AI-assisted drafting. Vernon B personally reviews, edits, and takes responsibility for every page before it is published, checking it for accuracy, tone, safety, and our no-medical-advice rule.
- We don't copy other sites' text. Product notes are written in our own words.
- If something on the site seems wrong or unclear, please tell us via our Contact page and we'll review it.
How the site is funded
Help My Attacks is free to read. Some pages link to products on Amazon. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. That doesn't change your price. We never invent ratings or claims, and we keep product mentions separate from coping advice. Details are on our Affiliate Disclosure page. Our Privacy Policy explains cookies and data.
Where to start
This feeling peaks. It passes. You don't have to go through it alone.
